The mission of the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy is to disseminate, advance, and protect the practice of NMT worldwide. The vision of the Academy is to promulgate NMT as the gold standard in music therapy practice and to increase the availability of this gold standard in the healthcare arena. While formalized training in Neurologic Music Therapy first began in 1999 in an effort to advance the professional education and understanding of the scientific and evidence-based practice of Neurologic Music Therapy, the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy was established in 2014 as a non-for-profit organization (section 501 (c)3 ) whose mission is to disseminate, advance and protect the practice of NMT worldwide by facilitating endeavors in the areas of Continuing Education, Student Training, Research, Information Sharing, and Reimbursement.  The Academy maintains an Advisory Council, which consists of practicing NMT clinicians who advise on all matters related to the professional and scientific development of NMT.

Approaches is a fully autonomous open access peer-reviewed journal inviting diverse perspectives on music therapy practice, profession and discipline. As a Hellenic-English publication, Approaches fosters interdisciplinary dialogue bridging local and global aspects of music, health and wellbeing. Approaches publishes two issues per year.

The Australian Journal of Music Therapy is an annual, refereed journal. It reflects current research and debate in the profession. Each volume of AJMT exemplifies the diversity of Australian music therapy clinical work and research.

The British Journal of Music Therapy (BJMT) is a peer-reviewed journal for music therapists and other professionals interested in all aspects of music therapy. It publishes original articles or essays that have direct relevance to the field of music therapy

The Canadian Journal of Music Therapy (CJRM) is a bilingual, peer-reviewed publication that aims to raise international standards of music therapy knowledge and practice. 

This report tells how music therapists help the various needs of students in a school for the blind. Different music therapy interventions are described, and music therapists explain how they address goals based on their students' Individual education plan.
