Conférence for the Société Québécoise des médecins de Soins palliatifs
March 25, 2025

Tuesday March 18 2025, the National Music Therapy Institute was invited to offer a conference to the members of the Société québécoise des médecins de soins palliatifs https://www.sqmdsp.com/. Méliane Laurier-Cromp, a certified music therapist working with the Institute, provided information about music therapy and how it is used in palliative care context.  Thank you for your trust and for this opportunity of better understanding music therapy!

On March 12th 2025, Suzanne Caron, President of the National Music Therapy Institute, and Guylaine Vaillancourt, President of the Quebec Alliance of Creative Arts Therapists (QACAT), had the opportunity to meet with Anthony Housefather, Member of Parliament for the Mount Royal riding. We discussed issues of interprovincial mobility and accessibility for services in Creative arts therapies, offered by professionals with a graduate university degree in that field.  We thank his team for their warm welcome and for offering their support.

Workshop at Centre communautaire Rendez-vous 50+

January 16th 2025 - We had the pleasure to offer our "Discovery Workshop - Demystifying music therapy" to members of Centre Communautaire Rendez-vous 50+, a community organization based in Montreal.  Guided by one music therapist from the Institute, participants had the opportunity of exploring musical activities inspired by what happens during group music therapy sessions.  Thank you for your invitation!

October 30th 2024 - We had the pleasure to offer our "Discovery Workshop - Demystifying music therapy" to members of Carrefour St-Eusèbe, a community organization bases in Montreal.  Guided by 2 music therapists from the Institute, participants had the opportunity of exploring musical activities inspired by what happens during group music therapy sessions.  Thank you for your curiosity and your enthusiasm!
